For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.

MSGA FEATURED CACHER
Woodduck870 - MSGA Featured Cacher
How did you find your first Geocache?
A coworker offshore got me into this, He thought I would like doing this! Boy was he mistaken LOL, Yep Dave of Ma&Pa Kettle from Arkansas Pass, Texas helped me set up an account and filled me with Information about Caching. Only problem no GPS!! I registered in January 20th 2006 with Groundspeak and it was not until Fathers day when my Family bought me a Garmin Legend! That was the start of my turning into a Geek with all my Electronics, GPS's, Laptop, Digital Camera, Camera Phone, Everything I buy now revolves around can I use it for Caching!
How did you choose your handle?
Well since I really enjoy duck hunting and the outdoors and Woodworking it was only fitting. I tried Woodduck but it was taken So Woodduck870 came to be since I use a Remington 870. I got lucky and actually was logging caches behind Woodduck in North Alabama in the Huntsville area with Craftinmomma and Not2Shabby. Scary when you open a logbook and see your name and you have never found the cache before!
How long will you work on puzzle caches before you give up?
Next Question, Now that did not take long did it!! No If I halfway understand it I will attempt to solve it! But I believe that one should save the Puzzle caches for Group Cache runs after a event! Be sure to go with someone who has solved it. And do not forget to thank the cacher who solved it for a job well done!
What town/areas have you most enjoyed caching in?
I have loved and enjoyed every small town, country road that we have been on. So much to see, pictures to take, memories to have been made!! Almost three years have went by since I started and I still see so many new things. I must say an truly do not want to offend any of our cachers out there, But I love the Natchez and Mandeville areas. So rich in History in Natchez and those Cemeteries are awesome to see!
How long have you been geocaching, and what was your first find?
Since June 23rd -2006 and it was William Hemphill Jr. Reborn here in Florence.
Who usually goes with you when you go caching?
Craftinmomma or Else I am in the doghouse, She has really made it fun running down these dirt roads and small one horse towns and having dinner at the small Mom and Pop Diners. I have had the honor of caching with so many of yall from a member of the Trashy Trio (Amagrud and Not2Shabby) To Wareagle, Lharrison, GeoScience, Cachecatone, RSarich and CamoLady Just to name a few that have been involved and a part of my insanity.
Do you use paperless caching?
Yes and no, We still print out the page on the few puzzle caches we attempt. See the 3rd question above.
What kind of geocaching rig do you use?
JEEP Grand Cherokee Laredo - Garmin 60 csx - Garmin Streetpilot 550 - Avertec Netbook with GSAK & MicroSoft Streets & Trips installed - 5 foot 6 inch Blond with a pink pen! If I cannot find it with any of the them it is camoed really well or MIA.
Why would you recommend anyone else to take up geocaching?
For all the neat McToys you grab out of the caches. All the new places I have discovered in our state and elsewhere, Of Course it is not how many caches you have logged but how many friendships you have earned along the way!! The Exercise, Poison Ivy ,Lyme Disease ,Gas expense, I need to stop this is depressing!
