Thanks BigDoggy ... for helping set this up ... it was a great time .... My legs even this morning are still very sore, But it is a good soreness. We were part of the group that only did half the loop, and we will be back for the other 4 that we left in the park. The 11 that made it the whole way, I give a big salute too ... You guys are animals ... lol
Cant wait to see what the LA crew has for the next adventure .... _________________ S.M.A.R.T. Public Relations ..
A lot of things have been posted about the event and the "Who Dat Crew" and I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the experience. Sometimes you plan for an event, sometimes you just happen to be in the right place at the right time, sometimes the weather is just right or very terrible, sometimes the people you are doing something with really bond and any of these things can make a memory, but once in awhile a bunch of these things seem to jell together and you get to make one of those memories that you will never forget and that is what the 11 of the "Who Dat Crew" friends from Mississippi, Louisiana and Germany, got to experience at the Clark Creek Event.
Thanks Mike for posting these pictures. Yep, the "Who Dat Crew" had a great time. I know that I am sore, very tired but with a satisfied feeling for our accomplishment. Twenty six cachers and two dogs started and 11 cachers finished. I know at times I could hardly lift the leg for the next step. I thank GOD for helping me survive these nine caches in one day. Best to split them into two trips but a must do for any cacher. Many thanks to the "Who Dat Crew". _________________ Leftygator
Thanks for the post and the photos guys! That is a tough hike with some of the most famous cache hides in the state of Mississippi along the way.
I wish we had more caches/hikes along this caliber in MS.
To those who haven't been to Clark Creek yet you should try and make plans to go ...before the blistering heat of summer sets in. Those uphill climbs must be ruthless in the middle of summer.
I would dare to attempt it in mid summer, but with more water. In June several years ago I went through 2 liters and that was only half the trail. Last week I went through almost 2 liters doing the whole thing. It was an experience so exhilarating that I am inclined to do it again when the time is right.
If you know what you are doing its not so bad. I have done several of the caches in July or August when they had just been put out without any extra water. Of course I hit the Pond store or Sportsman's Stop at Lake Mary as soon as I got through.
That I have not figured out. You just accept the fact that when you come out you are going to be wetter than if you had gone during a rainstorm and go ahead and get a couple of gallons of water and gatorade to refill. I see now that I am going to have to go back in there to get the earthcache. Hopefully I will get a chance before summer sets in.
